Wild and Free- unfinished- part 2 by Sandra R Cutrer

For the last few days, I've worked on "Wild and Free", along with a few other paintings. Here in south Texas, we have really enjoyed some really beautiful spring-like January days- the best days to paint in my studio with such great light. I do love watching this big guy come-to-life right in front of me- what fun! While painting him I imagine myself watching this beautiful animal running wild and free. Maybe it's a she, and she has a family back in the jungle, waiting for her to hunt for prey, and get back quickly to feed their hungry bellies. Maybe it's a he, and he is just roaming around, looking for some action!

All of God's creatures are so amazing and interesting to me. I love watching the Nat Geo Wild shows on TV, along with travel channels, too. There is so much to learn. I can hardly stand to become tired at the end of each day, knowing that I have to wind down and get my rest. I'd rather my body be young (again), needing less sleep, so I can pack in a few more hours of learning (and painting) each and every day. I'd love to have the energy I had when I was in my early twenties, but know what I know now in my mid fifties!

Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life. Proverbs 4:23
