"Honor to the Apache" by Sandra Reeves Cutrer

This is a quick sketch of my friend, Raymond. He is a proud Mescalero Apache. And a super sweet guy who loves helping everyone, always volunteering for any good cause, especially Cub and Boy Scouts. I have taken around 50+ photographs of him, and sketched from them several times. I hope to soon paint his portrait in oils.

Jesus said, “Do not judge others, so that God will not judge you” (Matthew 7:1). Many people practice bigotry toward others as a way of feeling superior. Even some of those who call themselves Christians do this. But this is not the way of God. It isn't always easy to be a true Christian. Very few people today would be willing to make the kind of sacrifices that others have made for their faith. But we do not have to hate, commit acts of violence,be cruel with our words or actions. As true Christian's, we don't have to gossip, tell lies, or say anything negative about others. We can and should strive to live our lives as peacefully as possible – as God would want us to do.

Blessings,
Sandra Reeves Cutrer
