"No Other Love" a drawing by Sandra Reeves Cutrer

"No Other Love". This is an original 11"x14" graphite pencil drawing.
I took a photo while the child slept peacefully in her wonderful gift of innocence. How precious children are. How fast they grow-up,, and if we allow ourselves to become too hurried for them to get out of their all too quick state of baby and childhood, think of how much beauty we will really miss.Take the time today, if you are blessed enough to have a small child in your life, and enjoy their innocent explorations of this world, while they are still young and amazed at what we adults sometimes take for granted.

Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the activity of God, who does all things.
Ecclesiastes 11:5 (NLT)

"Beach Dreams" by Sandra Reeves Cutrer

"Sisters and Friends" is an original oil painting on a stretched 16"x 20" canvas. These two charming sisters seem to have stopped their sand play, to focus on the incoming sailboat, and each others warm and loving company. $350.00. No shipping charge if mailed in the lower 48 states. Please contact me at sandrasart777@aol.com for more information about my works for sell.
I wasn't blessed to have a real blood sister, but God has given me a great sister-in-law, and a wonderful best friend, both have been in my life for nearly 40 years. I am enjoying a visit from my best friend and hate to see her leave for home soon. We allowed so many years to pass without too many visits because of our busy schedules, but finally decided that we needed to put our friendship first for a week, and enjoy each others company. What a great thing a best friend is, one that you can fondly call,"Sis"!
He lifted the needy out of their affliction and increased their families like flocks.Psalms 107:41

At the Baton Rouge Zoo photo by Sandra Reeves Cutrer

I am still hanging around in LA, helping out my son and granddaughters. This morning, after my son and I took our hour walk at the local park, I took off with my newest camera to capture some new photo references at their local zoo. I've been gone from this area for nearly 8 years, and was pleased to see the nice improvements made at the zoo.The highest the  temperature got was 67 degrees- perfect, sunny skies and a slight breeze. I couldn't have been more blessed! Most of the animals behaved and some came a little closer to inspect my big lens and large lens hood. What fun!
One of many animal photos taken today. This is a large Maned Wolf. I have several more great,close-up shots, ready for painting when I get back home!

Unfinished Elephants at the Houston Zoo by Sandra Reeves Cutrer

Just the first lay-in. I am spending some much needed time with our grand daughters in Louisiana. Although they go to school all day, I am staying busy helping their dad catch up on chores and things around the house since his heart attack. We had lost so many family members over the years to heart disease, making it really tough for our family. I have been getting out with him to walk an hour each morning, hoping to get him back to his life soon.
I think about these elephants, how family oriented they are, so protective of their young and other young in their herd. Elephants grieve for those that die off in their herd and family, touching and rubbing their dead with their trunks, crying and moaning. It is such a heart wrenching thing to see.
We should all appreciate, love, and spend quality time with our family and friends because we never know when they could be taken from us with out notice.

And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”  Luke 10:27

Cinnamon and Sugar by Sandra Reeves Cutrer

"Cinnamon and Sugar" are two sweet giraffes. As you can tell, Sugar is trying to catch up with his mother. Giraffes are such amazing animals. I think I have always respected them for their height and grace.
Unfortunately, more than half the giraffe calves in the wild never become adults as they fall prey to predators like large cats. If they do reach adulthood, the average life expectancy of a giraffe is about 25 years in the wild and more than 30 in captivity. A fun fact about giraffes is they sleep for between 20 minutes to 2 hours a day. Even when they sleep for the longer period, they do so in 20-minute naps.

Painted in oils on an 8" x 16" x 0.50" wrapped canvas. Sides are painted, so this painting can be hung  unframed or easily framed. All of my prices are listed on my blog photo listing, or please visit my website @ sandracutrer.com for pricing and more information.

Unfinished giraffes by Sandra Reeves Cutrer

I was having some fun with my newest camera, taking it for the first time to the Houston Zoo. What a great zoo! They have enlarged it so much, creating a lot more room for many of the animals to enjoy. I adore giraffes, so of course I had to get as many shots as I could of those beautiful creatures. I thought I would show you a few of my lay-ins. I am still working on it, of course, painting in one layer at a time, then allowing each layer to dry before I put in the next one. Lots of detail is what I'm after, and a great title, too. If you have any ideas, contact me at: sandrasart777@aol.com.

Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you.  This is my blood of the[ covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.” Matthew 26:27,28

Have a blessed Easter,

Spring Chickens by Sandra Reeves Cutrer

"Spring Chickens" by artist Sandra Reeves Cutrer, an artist of Texas.

My husband and I were so blessed to be vacationing (again) at the magnificent home of the late George and Edith Vanderbilt, Biltmore Estate of Asheville, North Carolina. What an awesome home, observatory, gardens, winery, restaurants, hotel on the property, and now a small farming area has been added for kids of all ages to enjoy.Everyone is allowed to pet some of the fun animals, but the roosters and hens were more concerned about fresh bugs instead of  being chased by children! I don't think this rooster would have allowed anyone to touch him, as he fussed at this brave hen every time she came too close to his "zone". No need to worry, she was pretty aggressive herself, and got in a few good morsels here and there!

Thanks for reading my blog and looking at my work!

"Spring Chickens" is painted on an 8x10 professional artist board, in oils. $100.00. Plus $10.00 shipping and insurance  for buyers within the USA's lower 48. Higher shipping prices for Hawaii and Alaska.
