"Racer" a Zebra Portrait in oils by Sandra R Cutrer

I finished my zebra painting today, and I am very pleased. Photos were taken back in May at the zoo in Baton Rouge,LA. My nephew just contacted me, letting me know that one of the zebras had her colt this week! I'd like to think this was the zebra that gave birth (or the father)! A great excuse for me to take a trip back to Baton Rouge, to visit family, and see the newest zebra!

I really enjoyed the challenge of keeping the stripes correct, but really, there are no two zebras with exact same stripes, so who would know...well, I would (grin)! My OCD would have kicked in and never allowed me to not paint this beautiful zebra as he/she was.
Thank you for reading my blog, and looking at my work.
