Now part of a private collection. This painting was done in thick acrylics and oils, using copper, gold, green and other earth tones.
I love painting with earth tones. My home decor is full of earth tones. I find them calming and serene. Wasn't God smart to give us such harmony in nature. Such awesome colors here and there, perfect balance in all things- whether under the great depths of the mysterious seas and oceans, all the way up to the highest mountain tops- there is color- whether reflective light, our own shadows, or cast shadows, there is color.
Sold- prints are available at Sandra-Cutrer.artistwebsites.com
All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. John 1:3 ESV

"Linked" Abstract painting by Sandra Reeves Cutrer
"Linked" is an abstract painting done in acrylics with added texture, on a gallery wrapped 16"x20"x2" stretched linen canvas.$125.00. No shipping charges is shipped within the USA!
I started with a lay-in of realistic earth tones, and then brushed in a few copper hi-lights. My creative juices were flowing toward some type of foaming motion, with circles or “bubbles” flowing upward; some linking together, some shaking lose. It reminds me of family and friends- linking us together in groups. At times we need the strength that "links" we have with others can create, other times we must shoot-for-the-stars on our own. We can test that, and know that if the need arises, we can fall back on the strength we recieve from others who care for us, and of course our loving God.

Abstract by Sandra Reeves Cutrer
One of my newest abstracts, "Links" is painted in acrylics on a 16"x20"x2.5"(extra thick, professional) all sides painted, stretched linen canvas.I have used a bright copper paint, along with golds, reds, deep yellows, and browns. For me, the earthy colors created a very soothing mood. $125.00
Earthkeeping: Our Responsibility
We are care-takers. "The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to till and keep it," Genesis 2:15. The Hebrew words shamar and abad, usually translated as "till and keep" in this verse, could be just as accurately translated as "serve and preserve." The word shamar is also used in Numbers 6:24: "The Lord bless you and keep you." God desires that we treat the creation in the same way that God treats us.

Something New
I am not sure if I will just leave this one alone or add a little something. I am enjoying the colors and textures. Very soothing. I don't do a lot of abstracts, but when I do I usually create one after working on a very detailed realistic painting. It allows me to be lose and free;whatever happens happens! Painted in acrylics on an 8"x8" stretched linen canvas, sides painted so it can be framed or left unframed. No price yet,as I am not sure what or if I will add to this!
Blessings,
Sandra Reeves Cutrer
