Some new works going on in my studio- unfinished longhorn by Sandra R Cutrer

Here is the lay-in and a few layers of paint added to my newest work, a Texas Longhorn. Working in oils on a stretched canvas.

We have so many Texas longhorns around where we live, but who would have thought they would be so timid! They run when I get out of the car with my camera.

There are so many colors, so many markings, and no two come close to being alike. How can you not respect these beautiful -and huge- animals.

 

 I wouldn't dare climb across a fence or gate, as I am sure they aren't as gentle as they seem. Maybe next time I can grab a bucket of feed and see if I can entice one or two to come a little closer to my camera.

"Hey,Check Out the Newest Chick" by Sandra R Cutrer

These two roosters seemed to be doing some "boy talk", maybe checking out the newest hen in the barn yard so I quickly named it,"Hey, Check Out the Newest Chick". It is painted in oils using palette knives on a 6" x 6" x 1.5 " galley wrapped canvas, so no need to frame. All sides are painted a dark hue.Prices are listed on the photo page of my blog, or on my website.
