Painting a pair of wolves

Oils on a 12" x 24" x 1.5" (deep) stretched and wrapped canvas. Placing the wolves in a rocky crevice. Right now, I am not sure if I want a foggy affect, or a sunset with loads of color...

As you can see, I've decided to go toward the colorful sunset.

Almost completed. Still work to be done on the wolf that is standing.

Finished Kitties

These are the finished kitties that were a commissioned work.

I apologize for such a long delay in blogging them, as summer is always a "crazy" time for me, as well as I had a sick husband for several weeks (that means added chores for me!) and much (welcomed) company at our home, as well as three- wonderful and filled with fun and family- vacation getaways! I love to travel, and always keep a bag packed!!! I wonder if my favorite color has always been green, because green means,"GO!", right? :)

All four are painted on 5" x 7" artist panels. The background color was chosen  to compliment the background color I used a while back on a dog portrait for this same client. The client wrote and told me about each cat's personality, so I felt like I was able to get to know each one individually while I painted them. The only male in the four is the one at the very top. However, before I could finish these portraits and get them shipped to her, she and her husband decided to adopt another kitty, so there is a new male to add to their fur family.

I love to take pet commissions, and I am very reasonably priced. I just need really good photo references to make sure your fur babies are painted how they really look in real life, since I can't see them for myself.

Well, I can't leave out our own kitty ( yes, just one), Miss MaLee!
