Spring Chickens by Sandra Reeves Cutrer

"Spring Chickens" by artist Sandra Reeves Cutrer, an artist of Texas.

My husband and I were so blessed to be vacationing (again) at the magnificent home of the late George and Edith Vanderbilt, Biltmore Estate of Asheville, North Carolina. What an awesome home, observatory, gardens, winery, restaurants, hotel on the property, and now a small farming area has been added for kids of all ages to enjoy.Everyone is allowed to pet some of the fun animals, but the roosters and hens were more concerned about fresh bugs instead of  being chased by children! I don't think this rooster would have allowed anyone to touch him, as he fussed at this brave hen every time she came too close to his "zone". No need to worry, she was pretty aggressive herself, and got in a few good morsels here and there!

Thanks for reading my blog and looking at my work!

"Spring Chickens" is painted on an 8x10 professional artist board, in oils. $100.00. Plus $10.00 shipping and insurance  for buyers within the USA's lower 48. Higher shipping prices for Hawaii and Alaska.

Tatanka, an original Bison oil painting by Sandra Reeves Cutrer

Tatanka, means Bison in the Native American Indian language.

This big guy seems to be standing his ground, maybe chasing away rival males from his harem. My husband, younger son, and I traveled to the Midwestern states a few years back. One of these big guys decided to run a little on the main road- in the state park traffic. Thankfully, everyone knew to stop driving until he made up his mind where he wanted to go. It was such a neat experience to watch his huge, muscular beauty, enjoying his freedom to roam.We were also able to see the female (cows) with their babies, although they stayed further away, protecting their young from curious tourist.

Tatanka is painted on an 8" x 8" x 0.50" stretched canvas, all sides painted in a dark hue so it can hang unframed, or place it in your favorite frame.Prices are listed on my blog photo list, or please visit my website- for prices and more information @ sandracutrer.com.

Reaching Up! by Sandra Reeves Cutrer

"Reaching UP!" was one of my favorite abstracts.

SOLD-you can still buy a print on canvas, or paper, etc.! See my work at : Sandra-Cutrer.artistwebsites.com.

I love green- my favorite color, and it's complimentary color, of course, is red. This painting reminded me of the wonderful rain we had today. Last year pretty much the whole state of Texas was trying hard to survive a very long and hard drought, with many losing their homes and businesses. When I heard the loud thunder, and saw the lightning flash (okay, so I am really not thrilled to see lightning), I could have danced around my house. We need that rain! As soon as it was over, and thankfully that was a good few hours later, my newly planted spring flowers where standing straight and a little taller, reaching up to the sun with  new found energy from their thirsty roots bursting from that good soaking!

Joel 2:23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.

Nebit, Leopard portrait in oils by Sandra Reeves Cutrer

Nebit, a variant of the Egyptian word for leopard. A close-up and personal portrait of one of the most powerful wild cats. Leopards are loners, not belonging to a pride, pack, or family of its own kind.

His eyes seem to tell a story. I love painting wild life portraits, and showing the details of each one's uniqueness.
Painted on a professional artist board, 9" x 12", ready for framing. So much detail, so realistic, this painting would look great in any room! For pricing, please scroll my blog's main page photos.

Three's A Crowd by Sandra Reeves Cutrer

Three's A Crowd! An original oil painting on a large 24"x 36" stretched canvas, ready to frame and hang in your favorite spot!

The colors are brilliant, and help show the fine details of the Macaws and their gorgeous plumage. The "courting" pair seem to be saying," Ah, can't you see we are already an item!"

Did you know that Macaws mate for life, and have lived as a couple for up to 50 years!

The humble will see their God at work and be glad. Let all who seek God's help be encouraged.Psalm 69:32

"Strutting My Stuff," Rooster painting by Sandra Reeves Cutrer

"Strutting My Stuff" is an original oil painting on a 12"x 12" x 1" gallery wrapped canvas. All sides are painted in a dark hue, so he can be left unframed if desired.

I love painting roosters, and have many roosters and hens in my personal collection. Not only are roosters beautiful, but they are such fun to watch! Yes, they can be a pain in the tail-feathers when they do their loud wake up call, they are bossy, rather sure-of-themselves, and cocky (pardon the pun), but they have a way about them that says,"Lay off my back and don't get in my way", causing one due respect. I mean, they aren't big animals, but you would think they are if one takes off chasing at your heels with that sharp beak!

All of God's creatures are a gift, each species unique, and beautiful in its own way. Each serves His purpose.

"Atsila" Native American Indian abstraction by Sandra Reeves Cutrer

"Atsila" means fire in Cherokee. This is an oil painting done in the expressionism style, on an 11"x14" stretched linen canvas, ready to be framed and enjoyed in your favorite room. No shipping charge (the price includes insurance, packaging, and a signature confirmation when purchase is delivered).
Like their distant cousins the Iroquois, the Cherokee Indians had an even division of power between men and women. Cherokee men were in charge of hunting, war, and diplomacy. Cherokee women were in charge of farming, property, and family. Men made political decisions for the tribe, and women made social decisions for the clans. Chiefs were men, and landowners were women. Both genders took part in storytelling, artwork and music, and traditional medicine. Today,Cherokee women can be chiefs also.

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name. (NASB)
