Well, this morning I got my second rejection from the Texas Daily painters blog. I thought it was about painting, and wanting artist from all over Texas to participate, not what they like or don't like. And, who are "they"???. But, this isn't the only time my work has been rejected. I will press on and paint because it makes me happy. I talked with a very successful, elderly artist a few years back. He had some great advice that I thought I was listening to, but somewhere along my way I fell back into that rut of trying to please others when I applied to the Texas Daily Painters blog- again! I forgot to not listen to anyone- just paint what I like. Eventually, someone will appreciate what I do, but it shouldn't matter. I am an artist because that is what I love being. I paint for me.
