This is one of my favorite paintings. When I look at it, I feel like I am on the beach, tuning my ears to the sounds of the water lapping at the sand. I feel the sun's last gift of warmth before fading away. Watching the horses, as they and their riders slowly make their way toward the huge dunes, I feel their contentment. So relaxing...God's word tells us to step away form our busy days, tuning into feelings of peace and His mighty love. We need to find a quiet place each and every day, if only for a few moments, to re-charge our batteries. Take a deep breath, or two. Close your eyes, and imagine a place like this for a few moments. It will get you through the rest of your day with a smile!
The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all they had done and taught.31 Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest."32 So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place.
