I have started on another animal portrait. This one is a beautiful Sable Antelope. I am using a photo reference taken at The Houston Zoo, in Houston,Texas.
I am finding out more and more that I (myself) am a "work in progress" as I get older. There is so much to learn, and not enough time to learn it- IF- IF we concentrate on how old we are, or how much time we think we have left to live, or just allow the fact that we have limited time in our day to get everything done we'd like to do. When I think like that, I don't get much done at all because my creativity and abilities instantly become limited and my excitement has become sort of "gloom and doom"! I am trying to focus on the time that I have, use it wisely, and live with the truth- that I WILL NEVER know everything, experience everything, or master much of anything. But I will work on what I can do, push myself to learn as much as I can to learn many things, pick my "battles" and make the decision that I am BLESSED to be able to do what I can do, and let the rest go. I will be focusing on making myself happy, and anyone that wants to "ride" with me can!
I have read articles online from "professional" bloggers that says we should not share some of our personal thoughts on our art blogs. Well, heck, I like reading a little info about other artist- friends and new contacts. It makes them seem more "real" and adds a little warmth and appreciation for their work, I think.
Blessings,
