Spike, a hatted rooster, if I can label him that!

This is ,"Spike". Isn't he adorable? I truly wanted to title him,"The Sunday Go to Meeting Hat", but since he is a male, I just thought ,"Spike" fit ( almost) just as well.

I have enjoyed painting roosters, hens, and chicks lately- I am sort of on a roll with them, but they keep me cheerful and bring a smile to my face during these short wintry, dark-too-soon days. We've had our share of gray skies, rain, and high winds. I am so thankful our area has been able to avoid not only the devastating tornadoes, but the recent horrific floods as well. My heart goes out to those who have lost homes,  necessary material possessions, memorabilia that can't be replaced, and above all, the lives of family members and friends.

When things like storms and floods take lives, we are again reminded of  how quickly our lives, or the lives of those we cherish, can suddenly end- without warning.

May this New Year make us more aware of love, kindness, joy in the little things, and more patience with every thing and every one...

HAPPY NEW YEAR, 2016!

Blessings,
